Cypark's Circular Waste and Waste-to-Energy division redefines waste management by transforming it into renewable value. Through an integrated circular-economy approach, we combine resource recovery, energy generation, and environmental protection within a unified system — ensuring that nothing in the waste stream goes to waste.

SMART Waste-to-Energy Plant

Located in Ladang Tanah Merah, Negeri Sembilan, the SMART (Solid Waste Modular Advanced Recovery and Treatment) Plant is Malaysia's first large-scale commercial WtE facility.

The plant processes up to 1,000MT of municipal solid waste daily, generating up to 15MW of green electricity while incorporating advanced emission control, leachate treatment, and sanitary landfill systems.

This closed-loop facility exemplifies Cypark's innovation in sustainable waste management and aligns with Malaysia's Circular Economy Blueprint for Solid Waste (2025–2035), while contributing to the nation's Low-Carbon Aspiration 2040.

Our SMART WtE System Components & Services

  • Waste Segregation & Recycling Facility (WSRF): Recovers recyclable materials and prepares the remaining waste for efficient combustion.
  • Waste-to-Energy Plant: Converts non-recyclable waste into renewable electricity under controlled, high-temperature conditions.
  • Leachate Treatment Plant (LTP): Treats wastewater from landfill and WtE processes for reuse, reducing freshwater consumption.
  • Sanitary Landfill: Securely contains residual waste with engineered liners and venting systems to prevent soil and groundwater contamination.

Through this integrated system, Cypark diverts waste from landfills, reduces methane emissions, and delivers sustainable infrastructure that powers communities and protects the environment.
